Midwest All Pro Wrestling recently celebrated its second year as a Sioux Falls based independent wrestling promotion.

Nick Dinsmore, owner and head trainer for Midwest All Pro, stopped by the SDPB studio in Sioux Falls to talk about his successful business that is training area wrestlers for the "squared circle."  Dinsmore still wrestles as "Euguene," a characted with which he gained fame in the WWE.

Officials with the City of Sioux Falls are suing a contractor over outside panels on the newly-constructed events center. The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center opened one year ago, and metal siding showed rippling not long after. Leaders say they tried to settle with contractors, but now they turn to the courts to resolve the problem.

City Attorney Dave Pfeifle says contract documents between construction companies and the city of Sioux Falls allowed stakeholders to negotiate a fix for bulging metal siding on the new events center.

Leaders of Sioux Falls’ events center want to help ticket buyers understand why shows sell out so quickly, and some concert-goers want officials to do more. The general manager of the Denny Sanford Premier Center says special sponsors receive perks, but they’re the same that anyone who signs up for the newsletter also gets, and everyone is capped at the number of tickets they can buy. The reassurance that leaders are trying to keep fraud out of the system still leaves thousands without tickets.

State Fair Sees Increase for 6th Straight Year

The South Dakota State Fair saw increases in attendance, revenue and camping this year. The five-day event hosted almost 200 thousand visitors and brought in 10 percent more revenue than 2011. As SDPB’s Cassie Bartlett reports, fair officials use past experiences as well as new ideas to draw crowds.

Tom Black, co-producer of the South Dakota Film Festival, says there's nothing like cinema on a big screen and that thrill is the reason the Festival seeks out and invites films of all kinds to participate in this pique event for the state.  The goal of the South Dakota Film Festival is to screen the best films submitted regardless of their geographic origin.  The Festival runs today through Sunday in Aberdeen with most of the films being shown at the Historic Capitol Theatre.
