Thursday March 14th is Pi Day. Dan May, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of mathematics at Black Hills State University. That evening at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center beginning at 5 Dan will give you a chance to learn a little Pi history and hear some poetry. He is with us today to tell us more.

The third-annual Women's March in Rapid City on Saturday included many men. One of them is Dan May. He says he considers himself to be a feminist. And he says he supports not only women's equality, but also the range of issues represented on the signs people carried in the march.

The next STEM career professionals might be the kids who some people think don't have a chance.

Dr. Dan May is an assistant professor at Black Hills State University. He works to teach math skills to under-served kids. His Geek Speak Lecture at Black Hills State is Thursday, September 6 at 4 p.m. MDT in Jonas Hall room 110. The talk is called "Bridging the Gap: Diversity in the STEM Pipeline."
