#GivingTuesday will take place later this year on December 1st. Today, however, is #GivingTuesdayNow. It's a new global day of giving and unity that serves as an emergency response to the overwhelming need caused by COVID-19.

To kick us off, we hear from Christina Oey, Development Director for Feeding South Dakota. Then, Sara Schneider, director of the Brookings Health Foundation, Liz Hamburg, executive director of the Black Hills Area Community Foundation, and Sandy Lown, The Teddy Bear Den's executive director.

Feeding South Dakota raised their goal of $75,000 during last year’s South Dakota Day of Giving. This year, the family of Mary Ellen and Paul Connelly will match your #GivingTuesday gift. 

Their Mission is to end hunger in South Dakota, distributing 14 million pounds of food annually to South Dakotans in need. Programs include a food bank, food pantry, mobile food pantry, child hunger programs, and commodity distribution.

Each week, Feeding South Dakota assists in providing temporary food assistance to approximately 21,000 hungry individuals and families in the state.

This Saturday is the 27th annual National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) "Stamp Out Hunger." Eric Wicks is a letter carrier and the local NALC food drive coordinator. He's joined by Christina Oey, development director at Feeding South Dakota.
