That's true of our next guest John Mollison - a filmmaker and the founder of the award-winning series Old Guys and Their Airplanes. On Saturday, May 16th, Mollison rolls out his new project, Old Guys and Their Airplanes Debrief. The first of this live, interactive history lesson features a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross.

The Administrator of the TSA is using his time in Sioux Falls to better understand the needs of America’s smaller airports. The Transportation Safety Administration’s leader has been on the job for only a few months. He says he hopes to gain local perspective as he works to make air travel safer.

Dakota Midday: Cold Spray Technology

Charles Widener, Director of the Arbegast Materials Processing and Joining Lab at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, discussed Cold Spray Technology which was developed at the school.  It received funding from the Defense Department and from the South Dakota office of economic development.  Cold Spray Technology is used to repair metal, like on airplanes or large machines.

Aviation Day In Pierre

The Civil Air Patrol and Elks Lodge in Pierre are teaming up to teach basic aviation to local youth, using models and hands on activities. This is known as Aviation Day for Pierre Schools.
