Summit League Commissioner Tom Douple announced Thursday that the league is signing an extension with the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls to keep the league's men's and women's basketball championships there through 2025.

The current deal between the league and the venue runs through the 2022 championships, March 5‐8.

“Throughout the past 13 years, our men’s and women’s teams have provided the Sioux Falls community with a ton of memorable moments with their outstanding performances at our basketball championships,” Douple said in a news release. “Our tournaments bring regional and national media attention in addition to a substantial economic impact to the community, so we are pleased to extend our agreement to keep the tournaments at the Premier Center for future years.

The 2022 Summit League Basketball Championships will be the ninth time the men’s and women’s tournaments will be at the Premier Center and 14th‐consecutive time the trophies have been handed out in Sioux Falls.

The Summit League includes South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota.
