South Dakota High School Football 'Broken'

In his Sunday column, Sioux Falls Argus Leader sports writer Stu Whitney wrote that high school football is broken. He says there are too few engaging matchups, too many blowouts and not enough title contenders in most classes to make the championship chase worth watching. Whitney places much of the blame on the Class 11AAA experiment, a controversial measure that added a seventh class of football in an attempt to counteract the dominance of Sioux Falls schools. He questions the wisdom of a seven-class system in a sparsely populated rural state and joined Dakota Midday to discuss why he believes that.
