The National Park Service seeks public comment on a draft Accessibility Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan.

Jewel Cave National Monument leaders released the plan June 7.

Officials said the plan identifies the barriers to accessibility throughout the parks and provides recommendations on how they can be removed or modified to increase accessibility.

Department of the Interior guidance requires parks to perform accessibility self-evaluations and to prepare transition plans. Public entities are required to evaluate their current programs, policies, and practices dealing with accessibility and develop a strategy for making the necessary changes to improve them.

Review the plan and submit comments here. The comment period closes July 7.
