South Dakota soccer continues to prove itself nationally. The South Dakota United Dynamo under 16 girls are national champions for the second year in a row.
A year ago, the girls won their first national title in Aurora, Colorado. The team returned this year and left with gold again.
The Dynamo first competed in the regional competition in Chicago in the middle of June.
The team shredded its opponents, scoring 25 goals in five games and winning the regional championship game 5-0.
Last week, the team headed to Aurora to defend its national title.
The team won its first game of the national series 12-0, setting the tone for the rest of the tournament. The following games ended with scores of 1-1 and 5-1.
The semifinal and championship match were won in style with the Dynamo winning 7-0 and 5-0.
The team dominated the competition in the regional and national rounds. In the 10-game series, the team scored 55 goals and conceded three.
South Dakota club soccer is ending for the season with high school soccer starting up soon.
