SDHSAA Names Brooks Bowman Assistant Executive Director

Brooks Bowman of Kimball will be in charge of the Fine Arts activities for the South Dakota High School Activities Association.

Before joining the activities association, Bowman was the director of bands in Kimball, the assistant director of bands at Rapid City Central and the director of bands at Sully Buttes. He currently serves the SDHSAA as the state co-chair for All-State Jazz Band, and is involved in several music organizations in South Dakota.

Bowman completed his Bachelor of Music Education degree at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. He and his wife Nichole currently live in Kimball with their three children. He will begin his new role with the activities association on July 27th, succeeding the current Assistant Executive Director James Weaver.

Nate Wek is currently the sports content producer and sports and rec beat reporter for South Dakota Public Broadcasting. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism Broadcasting and a minor in Leadership. From 2010-2013 Nate was the Director of Gameday Media for the Sioux Falls Storm (Indoor Football League) football team. He also spent 2012 and 2013 as the News and Sports Director of KSDJ Radio in Brookings, SD. Nate, his wife Sarah, and two kids Braxan and Jordy, live in Canton, SD.
