Tiny deer discovery makes giant scientific waves

On today's show...

In 2016, a Badlands National Park intern discovered a tiny fossilized deer skull. The skull was unlike anything found in the region ever before.

It was more than a new species. It was an entirely new genus. We learn more from park ranger, geologist and paleontologist Mattison Shreero.

Terrance Simien and The Zydeco Experience kicks off the Levitt at the Falls concert series tonight in Sioux Falls. Before his performance, he brings Mardi Gras beads and his instruments into the SDPB studio for a conversation about bravery as an artist.

We explore women in post-apocalyptic media with Miss Art World South Dakota Klaire Lockheart. She juried the "Thunderdomesticity: The F Word" art exhibition now on display in Vermillion.

Plus, David Hersrud went on the hunt for classical music's rising stars. He brings us the stories and work of the conductors and composers he says are worth watching. That's on today's "Fresh Tracks."
