Refresh your perspective on the skies, history & Tiny Desk

On today's show...

South Dakota stargazer Hank Fridell is already in Texas on a cosmic vacation ahead of Monday's solar eclipse.

He gives us the view from the ground and previews what South Dakotans could see in the skies next week. It likely won't beat his view in Texas, but you could see a partial solar eclipse if the weather holds.

Plus, his band DustUp created a song about the last total solar eclipse in 2017. Hear a snippet of "Witness."

We take a look at history and social media with author and historian Jason Steinhauer. He's in Pierre for the South Dakota History Conference and joins the show to discuss why he says he views history as an argument.

Local musician Scott Simpson shares how he created his 2024 Tiny Desk Contest entry. We listen to the song and story behind it.
