The stories & wisdom in 'Capturing Their Good Voices'

On today's show...

We brace ourselves for winter with a few weather predictions from the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.

The first week of November is National Veterans Small Business Week. SDPB’s Krystal Miga caught up with Jaime Wood, South Dakota district director of the Small Business Administration, to learn how they’re celebrating.

Seth Tupper joins us on South Dakota Searchlight’s first birthday to talk about scandals, legacies and national reputations. He's our Dakota Political Junkie today.

The documentary "Howasteya Oyuspapi: Capturing Their Good Voices" seeks to record the wisdom and stories of Native American elders for future generations. It takes interviews with six elders from across South Dakota and interweaves their stories into a powerful film.

We talk to the two professors behind the documentary. Urla Marcus is the director of the Center of American Indian Studies at Black Hills State University. Rosie Sprague is an instructor at the Center.
