On today's show...
We hear music from the Lakota Music Project with Jeffrey Paul. Up first we hear music from composer and violinist Jessie Montgomery. She holds music degrees from the Julliard School and New York University. For over 20 years she has been affiliated with the Sphinx Organization which supports young African American and Latinx string players. We will also hear a selection from George Walker, the first African American to win the Pulitzer prize for music. It’s Summer with the Symphony.
