South Dakota is an unexpected hub for chameleon research

University of South Dakota

This interview originally aired on "In the Moment" on SDPB Radio.

There may be not any wild chameleons in South Dakota, but one of the researchers at the forefront of studying this evolutionary marvel is right here in the state.

That would be Christopher Anderson Ph.D. He's the chair of the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Chameleon Specialist Group and an associate professor of biology at the University of South Dakota.

He joins us to discuss his research and the chameleon's amazing anatomy and crazy colors.

Learn more about Anderson's research lab.
