DSU's José-Marie Griffiths named USA Today's South Dakota Woman of the Year

Dakota State University’s president is USA Today’s South Dakota Woman of the Year.

José-Marie Griffiths’ cyber initiatives in the state earned her the recognition.

She’s been a driving force behind the construction of a new cyber lab in Sioux Falls and in asking the state to fund a quantum computing center.

Griffiths has also previously been inducted into theSouth Dakota Hall of Fame.

Ryan is the local host of "Morning Edition". Originally from Iowa, he first came to the Black Hills to study at SD Mines. After graduating in 2019, he was an educator in Arizona and North Dakota before returning to the Black Hills.
