Ben Bowman at the 2023 Legislative Research Day Student Poster Session

This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

Cybersecurity experts gathered in Las Vegas this summer for the Def Con hacker conference. Dakota State University student Ben Bowman was among the attendees.

The conference put current artificial intelligence models in the hands of contestants and asked the experts to break them. That exposed vulnerabilities.

Bowman discusses how the risks of AI decrease as the technology is perfected.
