The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department is looking for public input on its plan to mitigate invasive aquatic species.

The plan includes strategies to reduce the spread of non-native species in state rivers and parks.

Most notably, the plan discusses the department’s response to zebra mussels – a small species of mussels that’s been spreading rapidly across the state.

The full plan is available on the GFP website. You can mail written comments to 523 E. Capitol Ave., Pierre, S.D. 57501, or submit coments online at https://gfp.sd.gov/forms/positions/.
