Dr. Ranjit Koodali is the Dean of the Graduate School at the University of South Dakota. He joins us regularly to discuss the latest research in chemistry. Today’s topic is chemicals in sunscreen. The FDA proposes changes to US sunscreen rules. Dr. K. discusses the GRASE (Generally Recognized as Safe and Effective) rules. The FDA is requiring manufacturers to provide FDA with safety data of chemicals in sunscreen lotions, creams, sprays and oils.
