New Therapies For Pancreatic Cancer

Joshua Reinke is a professor from South Dakota State University's Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. His research focuses on developing a 3D pancreatic cancer model in which the tumor surrounds itself with a fibrous tissue. This dense scar like tissue is why the prognosis is poor for patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It makes it difficult for chemotherapy drugs to penetrate. This model may help researchers develop new therapies.
