Bsal Task Force

The US Fish and Wildlife Service is banning the trade of 201 species of salamanders, making it illegal to import them or move them across state lines. Scientists hope the ban will prevent a deadly outbreak of a fungus that infects native salamanders.

Dr. Jacob Kerby, USD Associate Professor of Biology, is associated with the national task force dealing with the issue and discusses the $10 million salamander trade and the fungus known as  Bsal.
