South Dakota's Fallen Heroes Program | Dakota Life

As you drive on South Dakota’s highways, you may notice green and white signs placed next to certain bridges. The signs are there to let you know that the bridge you’re about to cross has been named for a South Dakota service member killed or wounded in action. It’s part of the State Department of Veterans Affairs “Fallen Heroes” program and there’s a story behind every sign. SDPB’s Brian Gevik brings us one of those Fallen Hero’s stories, and has some info about how you can learn more about all of them.
