After delaying shipment of its flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 7, Samsung is set to recall all of the Note 7s that have shipped in its home nation and abroad as problems have been traced to the battery.

Earlier this week, Apple was ordered to pay a record sum of 13 billion Euros plus interest after the EU said Ireland illegally the iPhone maker's tax bill.  At the time, Apple CEO Tim Cook called the accusations "baseless."  Since then, a war of words has developed between Cook and Europe's competition chief.

Tech Radio host Kent Osborne and 'The Computer Guys," visit about Pokemon Go which has become one of the most viral mobile applications of all time.  According to SimilarWeb, Pokemon Go surpassed Twitter in terms of daily active users on Monday.  It now sees almost 6% of the U.S. Android population engaging with the app on a daily basis.

The panel also continues the conversation about "pulling the plug" and options for viewing live sports and other programs among other topics.

Kent Osborne and "The Computer Guys" discussed the sale of the San Francisco based cloud storage business Joyent to Korean phone manufacturer Samsung.  They also touched on Microsoft's purchase of LinkedIn and Apple's "differential privacy" and what it means for consumers.

Tech Radio host Kent Osborne and "The Computer Guys," Jeff Litterick, John T. Meyer and Joel Broveleit, discussed Elon Musk's comments at Recode's annual Code Conference where he said we are almost certainly living in a more advanced civilization's video game.  At the same conference Bill Gates balanced his fears of artificial intelligence calling it the "holy grail." 

The panel also visited about a new study that says nearly one in four people abandon mobile apps after only one use.

Kent Osborne and "The Computer Guys," Jeff Litterick, Amos Aesoph and John T. Meyer, discussed Google's unveiling of Google Home this week - an Amazon Echo-like device that relies on a conversational user interface.  Google also, at their annual conference, released a messaging app called Allo.

The panel also visited about a ransomware maker shutting down, privacy issues with respect to Twitter and Google and more.

Kealey Bultena guest hosted this week's Tech Radio.  She was joined by "Computer Guys" Jeff Litterick, Joel Broveleit and Amos Aesoph.  The panel discussed the Gang of Four platform wars, how Apple is deleting iTunes music files and a boy's discovery of an Instagram bug among other topics.

In addition, SDPB's Nate Wek discussed security issues with Jeff England of Silver Star Communications.

Tech Radio host Kent Osborne and panelists Amos Aesoph and Jeff Litterick discussed plenty of news regarding the Federal Communications Commission on today's program.  The FCC is receiving pushback after a 3-2 approval to advance a proposed rule imposing strong privacy regulations on internet service providers.  The Commission also voted 3-2 to expand a decades-old phone subsidy program to include broadband internet.

Meanwhile, fantasy sports operators DraftKings and FanDuel are suspending contests on college sports indefinitely in all states as part of a deal with the NCAA.

While Apple continues to resist a court order requiring it to assist the Federal Bureau of Investigation in accessing a terrorist's phone, another major tech company has taken a strange and unexpected step away from encryption.  Amazon has removed enterprise-level device encryption from its Fire Tablet devices.  The move affects millions of users.

Kent Osborne and "The Computer Guys" also discussed the free upgrade to Windows 10 and iTunes Radio's switch to Apple Music among other issues.

Kent Osborne and "The Computer Guys" discussed the ransomware attack of Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center that resulted in the hospital paying a 40-bitcoin ransom (about $17,000) to regain control of its network. 

The panel also commented on Apple's refusal to help the FBI acquire encrypted data from the San Bernardino shooter's iPhone - a decision with which Google CEO Sundar Pichai seems to concur.

Other topics included the Twitter GIF button, the Mattel 3D printer and a warning from Samsung to their customers to watch what they say around their smart TVs.
