USD Ranks On Forbes List

The University of South Dakota has ranked on the Forbes’ 2015 Best Colleges List. The list is made up of 650 colleges in the United States. USD ranked higher than any other school in the Dakotas. The university also ranked the highest in the Missouri Valley Conference and second in the Summit League behind the University of Denver.

The rankings are determined by aspects such as student satisfaction, student debt and post-graduate success. Scott Pohlson is the USD vice president of Marketing, Enrollment and University Relations. He says the criteria for the rankings are most important to potential students.

“What I like about this, about Forbes is that it basically takes into what the conversation is nationally right now. It’s about you know what’s the return on investment. And from what we can see in terms of what the Center for College Affordability and Productivity did with the rankings with Forbes. It basically says we’re a good value and the best in the Dakotas, so that’s what’s exciting about it,” says Pohlson.

Pohlson says USD ranked at about 400th nationally. He also says the university will heavily emphasis the ranking during recruitment.
