U.S. Representative Kristi Noem will sit on the committee tasked with ironing out differences in the tax bills passed by the GOP-controlled House and Senate.
Noem joins four of her colleagues on the House Ways and Means Committee on the panel. Two members come from both the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
Noem says she's confident the group can produce a bill leading to higher wages and job creation.
Congressional Democrats say the current legislation benefits the wealthy and large corporations and penalizes the middle class.
