In The Moment … January 14th, 2021 Show 972 Hour 1
One of the key obligations of the South Dakota state legislature is to approve a balanced budget for state government. The governor's office makes recommendations, but it's the lawmakers who meet daily throughout the session to process the facts and figures, understand the projections and estimates, and navigate the conflicts and debates. Today we bring you part of that process "In Their Own Words" from the Joint Appropriations Committee. You'll hear from Committee Chair Jean Hunhoff, along with Liza Clark, Mark Quaznee, and Derek Johnson from the state Bureau of Finance and Management. This is from the first day of the 2021 legislative session.
In Their Own Words brings you closer to the debates and conversations behind legislative topics. It’s supported by SDN Communications.
