Since December, more than a million people have been freshly displaced in Syria. The Civil War there has been going on for nine years now. As Syrian and Russian forces seek to destroy rebels, civilians increasingly have no place to go. Tim Schorn is an associate professor of political science and director of International Studies at the University of South Dakota. He's been helping us understand the humanitarian crisis in Syria, even as the crisis continues to expand beyond our attempts to put it into any kind of meaningful context. United Nations humanitarian leaders have called the refugee crisis "a horror show."
