'Sweet' Victory For The Jackrabbits

South Dakota State University's women's basketball team is heading to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen for the first time ever. 

The Jackrabbits defeated the Syracuse University Orange 75 - 64 to advance to the regional semifinals. 

SDSU cut a twelve-point Orange lead to two by halftime and pulled away late to get the historic win. 

State's Madison Guebert led all scores with 20 points. Guebert made six of SDSU's nine three-point baskets. 

Myah Selland contributed 17 points and Macy Miller added 11 points and ten rebounds for the Jackrabbits. 

Tiana Mangakahia paced Syracuse with 18 points in defeat. 

South Dakota State will play the University of Oregon Ducks on Friday at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon. The game time has not yet been announced by the NCAA.
