The anticipation of an influx of workers to rural western South Dakota to build the proposed Keystone XL pipeline has resulted in a 1.3 million dollar grant to expand services related to preventing and responding to sexual assault and sex trafficking in the region. Dr. Bridget Diamond-Welch is a research scientist for the USD Sanford School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine. Good morning Dr. Diamond-Welch. And Krista Heeren-Graber is the executive director of the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault, known as The Network.
