The Rapid City-based River Liffey Boys performed during the Dahl Arts Center's Emerging Artists Program last October. Established in March, 2010, the River Liffey Boys began playing lots of traditional music along with Celtic, country and bluegrass. They melded the genres into their own sound which they call "blue-Irish-grass." In discussing the appeal of Irish music, the members of the River Liffey Boys joked that they know they'll always have a gig on St. Patrick's Day. Peter Roth is on guitar, vocals, Bodhran and washboard; Bruce Wiens is on guitar, banjitar and vocals; Brian Hemem performs on fiddle and mandolin and Phillip Myers is on drums.
