North Mississippi Allstars

Brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson formed the North Mississippi Allstars in 1996.  While growing up they soaked up the music of their father, Memphis legend Jim Dickinson, and absorbed the North Mississippi legacy of R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and Otha Turner.  North Mississippi Allstars have received multiple Grammy nominations while their albums have allowed them to earn the reputation as one of the most intriguing acts to emerge from the loam of Southern blues and roots rock.  They headlined the main stage of JazzFest 2013, presented by the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society, on July 19 at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls.  The band celebrates the release of their new cd, "World Boogie Is Coming," next month on September 3.
