Noem Moves Schoenfish To State Senate, Appoints Overweg

Governor Kristi Noem is moving current State Representative Kyle Schoenfish to the senate to fill a vacancy left by Stace Nelson, who resigned in November of 2019.

Schoenfish has served in the legislature since 2013 and recently made known his intentions of running for State Senate.

Nelson has been a vocal critic of district-mate Schoenfish, who works for the firm that audited Mid-Central Educational Co-op and their handling of federal Gear-Up funds for the state.

Noem is appointing Marty Overweg to represent District 19 In the House. Overweg owns and operates Overweg Feed and Wagner Feed Supply.
