New Executive Director For Journey Museum

Janna Norby replaces longtime Journey director Raymond Summers who retired on May 1. Norby is a western Montana woman who has curator experience with Montana state history and the National Park Service. Board of Directors President Donna Fisher says Norby's youth and energy will help the museum build new connections with the local audience and visitors to Rapid City. "Norby brings a passion for museums which she believes connects the past and present for people of all ages," Fisher says. Norby has museum management experience with the National Park Service, the Montana Heritage Commission and most recently the Mai Wah Society and Museum in Butte, Montana. Norby received a bachelor's degree in social sciences and history from the University of Wisconsin. Her master's degree in American History and Museum Studies is from the University of North Carolina, where she was Rebecca Wright Chambers Scholar.
