Monophonics At JazzFest

This week's show harks back to the psychedelic soul and heavy funk of the late 60s and early 70s.  Monophonics are true to the San Francisco Bay Area's rich musical culture.  Fuzzy echo guitars, blistering drums, a soulful bass, powerhouse horns and a swirling organ provide the foundation for Monophonics funky psychedelia.  Though touring mightily in recent years, the group remains a mainstay at Bay Area venues like The Independent, Great American Music Hall and Sweetwater Music Hall.

This concert was recorded at the Sioux Falls Jazz & Blues Society's JazzFest 2012.  You'll also be able to see this concert on No Cover, No Minimum on SDPB-TV on Saturday, April 27, at 10 p.m. Central.
