It was a ceremony of generosity and the establishment or affirmation of social order. The potlatch is featured in an exhibition at Augustana University in Sioux Falls. "From the Land of Totem Poles: Shamanism and the Faces of the Potlatch" is curated by Adrien Hannus and the students of his Augustana Museum Studies class. Hannus is professor of anthropology and director of the Archeology Lab at Augustana. He is the David B. Jones Endowed Chair of the department and he joins us in the SDPB Sioux Falls studio now for a preview.
