How To Improve "Pandemic Communications"

NPR

In The Moment … December 3, 2020 Show 953 Hour 1

Almost since the beginning of the pandemic the phrase "social isolation" has been promoted and embraced and challenged. What do know now that we didn't know before about the impact of isolation and loneliness in 2020? The people most affected might not be who you think.

Jill Tyler, Ph.D. is an associate professor and chair of communication studies at the University of South Dakota. She recently served on a panel of USD scholars called "Boundless Intersections." It looked at COVID-19 through the lens of a variety of disciplines. You can find the full conversation on the USD Facebook page. As we prepare for what promises to be a difficult winter, she joins us to talk about the power of our communications during the pandemic.
