Historic Homestake Opera House Offers Season-Long Playbill

The Historic Homestake Opera House in Lead is offering a season-long playbill.  The Opera House has not offered one since a fire devastated the building almost three decades ago.

Sarah Carlson is the Executive Director of the Opera House.  She says performances at the Opera House have been well received.

“In 2008 we had Fiddler on the Roof – it was the first community theatre performance here in twenty-five years – since the fire in 1984. And that really kicked off a lot of interest in community theatre and performing arts here in the Northern Hills,” says Carlson.

Carlson says the playbill includes shows over nine months.  She says Grease and Steel Magnolias, as well a kids show, a variety show, and a drama are in the works.
