Heather Wilson is a former Republican member of the United States House of Representatives representing New Mexico's 1st congressional district from 1998 to 2009. She was the first female military veteran elected to a full term in congress. Wilson was also New Mexico's Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in 2012 but lost in the general election. She discussed her career and her path that led her to her new position at SDSM&T as well as the school's future.
