May 8, 2020

In The Moment … May 8, 2020 Show 813 Hour 1

The 2020 Governor's Giant Vision winners were announced in April. The coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the event as originally planned, so the competition was completed by using online technology that allowed everyone to participate remotely. This is the sixteenth year of the entrepreneurial business competition, hosted by the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We're joined this morning by David Owen, President of the South Dakota Chamber of Commerce, and it's our pleasure to have Craig Bailey, president of Novum Nano, with us as well. Novum Nano is this year's winner of a $20,000 first-place prize in the Business Competition. We then continue with the Student Competition winner of this year's Giant Vision Award. Anahita Haghizadeh is a student at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City. Her company is called NanoHSink.
