GOAC Continues EB-5 Inquiry

The State Government Operations and Audit Committee heard testimony from officials with the Board of Regents on EB-5 and alleged fraud that occurred when a key player privatized state oversight of the program potentially raking in millions in private profit.
 
Democrats on the committee cited frustrations at not being able to get to the bottom of the alleged fraud.   
 
But committee Republicans say criminal prosecutions are outside the preview of the legislature, they cite an ongoing federal investigation into the EB-5 program.
