Dusty Johnson Says SD Republicans Excited For Results in State Legislature

South Dakota Republicans felt pretty comfortable Tuesday/last night as they watched the state races results come in. Early results showed the South Dakota presidential race going to Mitt Romney…and South Dakota’s lone House of Representative seat staying in the hands of incumbent Kristi Noem. Dusty Johnson is the governor’s Chief of Staff. Johnson says along with the two national races, South Dakota Republicans were excited for the results in the state legislature.

“People are looking forward to sending a lot of Republican legislators back to Pierre, says Johnson. It’s been a really hard fought campaign. Frankly, I think a lot of these legislative races have been a little bit more contentious than people expected.”

Johnson says a few hundred people packed the South Dakota Republican Headquarters in Sioux Falls. He says many in attendance were die-hard supporters that have been going door to door and putting up signs to help Republicans win their respective races.
