Hospitals and clinics in South Dakota have been under incredible pressure during the COVID pandemic as thousands of South Dakotans have contracted the contagion. But the field hospitals we prepared for in March have not been needed so far, and hospital capacity, though strained, has overall held strong. So how are thousands of people getting the care they need? 
 
 
 
We look at how South Dakota health care providers pivoted for a pandemic. We'll look at how they were poised to respond, how they quickly adjusted to the emerging science of COVID care, and what they've learned about the health care delivery of the future.
