Like his inspiration Albert King, blues great Coco Montoya is a left-handed guitar player who plays with a right-handed neck. Montoya developed his style while playing in Albert Collins band in the 70's. Later in his career, the self-taught guitarist was asked by John Mayall to join his Bluesbreakers. After three albums and nearly a decade touring with Mayall, Montoya embarked on his solo career. He's always popular at standout events like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the Chicago Blues Festival and the San Francisco Blues Festival. Montoya headlined the 25th annual JazzFest in July, presented by the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Society.
