The new Avera on Louise Health Campus in Sioux Falls is hosting an open house this weekend to celebrate its completion. The 260,000 square-foot building houses a specialty hospital and medical clinics.
The building was designed to maximize natural light to improve both patient and staff experiences. Sarah Kappel is a registered nurse and Director of Patient Care Services at Avera Specialty Hospital. She hopes visitors experience a clean, bright and healing environment.
“And we want that to be a space that the community can utilize as well. We talked a bit about our Daily Bread Bistro. Our chef is amazing and I know they would love to have members of the community come and enjoy what they prepare. We have a beautiful meditation space as well that we want our families and visitors to come and enjoy and have some peaceful moments. So we really do hope that it’s a place the community can enjoy.”
The open house is Sunday from 11am-1pm.
The Avera on Louise Health Campus begins operations at the end of this month.
