Rounds co-introduces resolution rejecting warrant for Netanyahu

U.S. Sen. Mike Rounds is co-introducing a resolution rejecting arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

This comes after an International Criminal Court, or ICC, prosecutor announced he’s seeking warrants for Netanyahu, as well as Israel’s Defense Minister and three Hamas leaders.

Rounds called the arrest warrants "unconscionable" and "devoid of reality."

The ICC must review the application and decide whether to issue the warrants, which could take months. Neither the U.S. nor Israel is party to the treaty that established the ICC.

Rounds led 23 other senators, including Sen. John Thune, in the resolution.
