Gov. Kristi Noem’s new memoir, “No Going Back,” is heading back to the publisher for corrections.

Noem made the comment on CBS’s Face The Nation, when she was asked about inaccuracies claiming she’d met the North Korean dictator.

Early versions of Gov. Noem’s second book include an anecdote about meeting North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

Noem now says the anecdote should not have been included in the memoir, following reporting by the Dakota Scout which shows the meeting did not happen.

Noem, who voiced the audiobook version of the memoir, is pinning what she calls ‘two small errors’ in the book on the ghostwriter and the editor, according to The Dakota Scout. Noem’s spokesperson has not returned requests for comment.

Sunday morning, in her first televised interview since the revelations, Noem declined to say whether she’d met the North Korean dictator.

“As soon as it was brought to my attention, we went forward and have made some edits. I’m glad that this book is being released in a couple of days and that those edits will be in place and that people will have the updated version," Noem said.

During the interview, Noem said she had been to North Korea, and then clarified it was the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea.

Noem has been widely considered one of the contenders to be Donald Trump’s running mate for the 2024 election.

‘No Going Back’ also includes the widely shared story about Noem shooting and killing her dog after it failed on a pheasant hunt and attacked a neighbor’s chickens. She also killed a goat the same day.

Noem describes the book as a blueprint for the American citizen.

It comes out Tuesday.
