Rep. Dusty Johnson joined many Republican colleagues in voting to oust Rep. George Santos.

Santos, a Republican from New York, is facing 23 federal criminal charge for fabricating parts of his life to get elected.

On Friday, the House voted to expel Santos.

Just under half of Republicans voted alongside Johnson in favor of expulsion. Those votes, combined with unanimous support from Democrats, was enough to surpass the two-thirds majority required.

Johnson previously indicated he planned to vote to expel Santos after the House Ethics Committee released a report highlighting the allegations against Santos. That report said Santos violated federal laws by spending campaign money on personal luxury items, Botox treatments and subscriptions to the adult-content site OnlyFans.
