This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

Half of all suicides in South Dakota involve a firearm. Safely storing guns puts time and distance between a person struggling with suicidal thoughts and lethal means.

It could save a life, according Colleen Creighton, the director of the End Family Fire program at Brady.

Creighton discusses national and local statistics on firearm deaths, as well as actionable steps every gun owner can take to keep their guns secure and safe.
