Voting access among South Dakota’s impacted populations

This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

Let’s talk about voting rights in South Dakota and dig deeper into a new report’s recommendations.

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and their South Dakota advisory committee recently released a report examining voting access in the state. The state committee heard about the lived experiences of three impacted communities:

  • Non-English speakers
  • People with disabilities
  • Native Americans living in reservation areas

The chair of that committee, Travis Letellier, joined In the Moment to break down the findings and the committee’s recommendations.
