Mitchell voters face $17 million school bond question

South Dakota Department of Tourism

Municipal elections are here for many communities, including Mitchell.

Alongside usual city government roles, a bond issue relating to athletic facilities at the local high school is in front of the public Tuesday.

The project would add fifty-five thousand square feet of gym space, practice areas and locker rooms at a $17 million price tag.

The bond needs 60 percent approval from voters to pass.

If approved, the facilities could be ready for students as soon as the 2025-26 school year. Polling locations can be found on the South Dakota Secretary of State website.
