A proposed bill would have required South Dakota legislators to attend an educational class focusing on state and federal constiutions.

This interview originally aired on In the Moment on SDPB Radio.

It's important for legislators to stay on top of a wide variety of issues and governmental operations. A bill proposed during the 2023 legislative session aimed to require it.

House Bill 1179 would have required members of the legislature to attend a course on federal and state constitutions.
